Hugo was born in Lisbon and spent his childhood in Cascais. Programming has been a part of his life since a young age. At just 12 years old, he created a version of the ZX Spectrum game Pacman in Basic! This humble beginning marked the start of his lifelong passion which made him pursued a degree in System Management & Computation, driven by his love for technology and programming.

During the 1990s, way before the Internet, Hugo was a SysOp for the largest Portuguese BBS! How exciting was that! He also had the amazing opportunity to publish several articles in the Spooler Magazine during that period.

With each passing year, Hugo has witnessed the evolution of technology at first hand. In fact, over the past three decades, he has spent 25 years working in web technologies, more specifically web development and web hosting. Without a doubt, he has embraced innovation with open arms, using cutting-edge tools to create immersive digital experiences and scalable solutions. Moreover, as an experienced professional, he has not only developed his skills in architectural solutions but has also created strong frameworks.

Hugo began using PHP in the 90s, a time of experimentation and discovery! However, he only started using Laravel in 2015, which brought a paradigm shift in web development. In addition, he used Laravel's elegance and efficiency to build dynamic, feature-rich applications. In November 2022, Hugo has joined Javra Software as a project manager and is leading innovative projects!

Beyond the realm of technology, Hugo enjoys exploring new cultures and landscapes through travel. Also, in this spare time, he creates electronic content for his YouTube channel, including tutorials and reviews, to inspire and educate fellow enthusiasts. Nevertheless, his family remains his anchor and Hugo truly loves spending time with his loved ones, whether it's a leisurely stroll in the park or a cozy movie night at home.

Now let’s meet Miguel our most recent project manager in our Lisbon office!

Did you know that Miguel’s story began, in the heart of Luanda, Angola, woven with threads of diverse experiences and relentless pursuit of knowledge? How exciting is that, right?

Armed with a master’s degree in international relations, Miguel's academic journey laid the groundwork for his boundless curiosity and global perspective. Moreover, he acquired post-graduate degrees in Marketing and programming, shaping his multifaceted skill set. He demonstrated his dedication by obtaining certifications in system and network administration. He also mastered Agile and Project Management methodologies, including SAFe, ASM, and PMI-ACP.

Miguel's interest in technology began at the age of 8 when his father gave him an X86 PC. This sparked a curiosity that would shape his future. Fast forward a few years until December 2023, his narrative intertwines with Javra Software, where he assumed the pivotal role of Project Manager in the bustling city of Lisbon. At Javra, Miguel thrives amidst a vibrant tapestry of cultures, recognizing diversity as the cornerstone of innovation and success. He believes that Javra's multicultural environment is one of the company's biggest strengths.

When not working or travelling (often on last-minute flights!), he expresses his zest for life through culinary adventures, cherished moments with family and friends, and the electrifying energy of live concerts! His journey is a testament not only to professional success but also to the celebration of life's myriad experiences and the richness of human connection!

Now is time to reveal our third Project Manager, António Sérgio.

It was in Lisbon that he first saw the light of day almost four decades ago. From his earliest memories, António was fascinated by programming and knew that this was the field he wanted to pursue. Imagine a 9- or 10-years-old boy tinkering with Basic, and just a few years later creating a Delphi editor (based on Pascal/C++) to read hexadecimal data to change money, player skills in Championship Manager.

But wait, there's more to his story. At the age of 14 years old, António delved into the world of music mixing and production. By the age of 15 or 16, he was spinning tracks at local parties and clubs, eventually taking his passion overseas between 2003 and 2011. In fact, music was his main hobby until 2013. It's funny how programming and producing music, two seemingly different worlds, intertwine seamlessly in his life. Oh, and let's not forget his love for Legos – it's been a constant fascination!

António studied Information Technology Management at university and started his professional career as a C# . NET developer, but for 12 years he has been fully dedicated as a full PHP developer in the warehousing, travel, aviation, and industrial sectors, as well as in stock and portfolio management systems as a Solutions Architect, before joining Javra in November 2022.

Nowadays, his world revolves around his daughter, son, and his partner. He enjoys exploring new destinations, both within and outside of his country. Each journey reveals a new chapter, whether it be in history or through engaging activities.

One of Antonio's fun facts is based on his routine! He starts his day at 6 am with a brisk run and an invigorating workout that lasts about an hour. He always enjoys a steaming cup of coffee in the morning, which is non-negotiable. Without a doubt, in essence, his life is a symphony of passions – programming, music, family, travel, and that essential cup of morning brew.
